Health Visitors

Our Health Visitors specialise in healthcare and developmental checks, particularly for the under 5’s.  They can also offer support and counselling in family and personal matters.

In Stroud, the Health Visitor team are based at Stroud Maternity Hospital

District Nurses

District Nurses provide treatment at home if you are unable to get to the surgery and nursing care for the sick in the community.  Referrals to the District Nurses are through the G.P.

In Stroud, the district nurses from Beeches Green Health centre also cover for St. Luke’s. They can be contacted through Reception.

Midwives

The Midwife provides maternity care from the early weeks of pregnancy until after the birth.

In Stroud, Mandy Rowbottam runs an ante-natal clinic at St. Luke’s on Wednesday mornings.  Annie is based at Stroud Maternity Unit, which operates a 24 hour advice and support line.

In Tuffley Sheila Wrigley arranges ante-natal and post-natal appointments with patients at their home.  She is based at the Orchard Centre at Gloucester Royal Hospital.
