St. Luke's Trust
The premises for the Medical Centre in Stroud is owned by St. Luke’s Trust, which is a charitable organisation dedicated to ensuring that anthroposophical medicines and therapies will be available to the public into the future. The Trust promotes the therapies by subsidising the cost of treatments through a Patient Therapy Fund, when necessary. This helps to ensure that all those who could benefit from the therapies are able to receive them. Many people, some of whom have themselves been supported by the fund, make donations or run fundraising events, so that it can continue to support others in need.
The pond in the garden Sharing the site with the Medical Centre is another initiative for which St. Luke’s Trust is also responsible:
Gannicox Camphill Community is a residential therapeutic community, including adults with learning difficulties. Currently comprising two households within Gannicox House, the community fosters the well-being and development of all its residents, and works with the other initiatives of St Luke’s Trust to create a broader understanding of therapy, recognizing the dignity, spiritual integrity and contribution of each and every individual.
Gannicox House Gannicox is a member of the Association of Camphill Communities, and contracts with Gloucestershire County Council under the “Supporting People” scheme. |
